I thought all GPS systems had a monthly fee. But from what I hear this system is $300 with no monthly sign up. Is it true? I will buy it if so. I'd rather pay more for something up front and not have to sign up for another monthly bill.

My nuvi 300 is giving me the message "no map data available" when I try to go to the icons for inputting an address or for food, lodging hospitals... basically any location that I would have to input. My saved locations are however still there.

You might have downloaded the wrong maps, that's the likeliest scenario. Visit the page again.
