They are both priced within $10 of each other. I'll probably only us in North America for driving trips.

Does anyone have any opinions on which is better? More user friendly?

Garmin is the best hands down. Magellan and Tom Tom stink. Tom Tom is know to give bad routing information.

So, I became the owner of a slighty used garmin nuvi...but the the system and the cord..no box...how do I figure out WHICH nuvi I have? It just says garmin nuvi on the front and I googled but the 200, 250, 270 all look the same?!

look underneath the unit where the serial number is. should say it there in small numbers/letters.
