Hi, I am going on a cruise soon and was wondering if when I run on the track that is on the cruise, will the distance and pace results of my Garmin Forerunner 450 (gps running watch) be messed up because of the ship's motion?

Although I don't have such a watch, I'm quite sure the answer is yes. GPS determines the longitude and latitude and calculates distance, speed, etc from that. Your cruise ship should have a sign on the walking deck that states how far one lap is.

In the few years that I’ve had it, I’ve come to rely on my iPhone way too much. It’s my music source, a quick way to check social networks, a GPS-enabled map, and much more.

I had a nightmare the other night that I dropped and broke my iPhone, then had to use a regular cell phone. It was awful!

CityTransit and Exit Strategy: When I lived in New York City, I knew the subway system perfectly. The minute I moved to New Jersey, I forgot everything. Luckily, I have these two apps. CityTransit ($2.99) contains current maps for the entire subway system, important since I can’t remember what lines connect anymore. Exit Strategy ($3.99) lets me know what subway car I should enter if I want to be right next to the station exit when I get where I’m going. Shaving off those 30 seconds makes me feel like a New Yorker again.
