I'm looking at getting a garmin forerunner 305 and I was wondering if I needed to get the foot pod to track my distance when I'm outside, or does it just run off of GPS?

You don't need the foot pod to run outside with the Garmin. I have a 305 and it tracks my runs outside just fine. It does take a few seconds to find satellites but that's the only issue I've had. When I run indoors I use the time/pace setting or I count

I am wanting to buy a Garmin Forerunner 305 sports watch with GPS and heart rate monitor. There are some cheaper ones online in the US and UK but I am unsure if the sat navigation will work in Australia... Can anyone help with this?? Thanks so much
